Steve, when I read your title, it immediately called to mind a line from a book I recently wrote. I guess our vision of trees is the same.
"Beyond the patio the wall of trees that only a couple of months earlier had sheltered me from the summer’s heat stood naked, a line of impotent sentries unable to halt the advancing rays."
Steve,
You always provide great pictures. Thank you!
That picture looks like it could be right here in North Carolina!
We have forest after forest of that speciaes of tree.
Great picture Steve!
When I first moved to Florida, I thought that Florida pine trees were pretty poor specimens because they were "scraggly." Now I think pine forests like this are simply lovely, especially combined with our beautiful blues skies. Thanks for sharing this great picture!
Steve, Once again, a great submission from you! Perfect example of finding the 'lines' in nature to photograph!
Debi
John,
Very poetic imagery in your writing. Thanks for sharing that in your comments. :)
Steve
Tony,
Thanks for noticing and commenting. Appreciate your support. :)
Steve
Craig,
It could be in North Carolina except that it's in Florida. Pine trees are very interesting to observe. :)
Steve
Laurie,
Thank you. I agree that this is a beautiful setting. We have larger pine trees in various areas of the state, but this is nice. :)
Steve
Hi Steve - Another great shot, it looks like you used a wide angle lens...nice effect.
Hi Steve, Very nice shot. I love the color of blue in the sky, and the tree tops reaching toward it.
Hi Steve
No words can describe your photo on Wednesday. Nice photo.
Good luck and success
Lou Ludwig
Gail,
Yes, I believe I did. Adds more height to the photo. :)
Steve
Mary,
Thank you. Time of day and time of year has a lot to do with sky color. :)
Steve
Lou,
Thanks for your comments. Glad you liked the photo. :)
Steve
Hi Steve-I love your photo. They are very tall trees and the sky is such a pretty blue. Thank you for commenting on my blog. Have a great evening.
Hi Steve...We have a number of tall pines similar to these in this area. They have shallow roots and are worrisome in windy weather and when we have lots of snow or ice.
Guess you don't have to worry about the last two down there in Florida.
Kate
Sharon,
Yes, there seems to be a little difference between your trees and mine. Thanks for the great comments. :)
Steve
Kate,
No, fortunately no snow of ice. Wind, on the other hand, we have. Surprisingly, in a hurricane it's not the physical damage to the visible tree that ruins it, it's the root damage. :)
Steve
Debi B.,
Thanks for your very gracious comments. Really appreciate your visits. :)
Steve
Love the shot. Are those there to keep the Gators out?
Randy,
It might slow them up a bit but wouldn't really deter them. :)
Steve
Tall and straight, all reaching for the Sun's energy.
Richard
So tall and skinny! They look so striking against that vivid blue sky.
Steve, Great army you have there, The contrast between the blue and green is great...
Richard,
It does make a nice statement, doesn't it? Thank you. :)
Steve
Ann,
Yes, there they stand perfectly plumb against the clear blue sky. :)
Steve
Paul,
I like that contrast, too, and just the straight lines. Thank you. :)
Steve
Steve, nice photo. I love evergreen trees, especially the scent and walking on the soft needles.
Lisa,
You just can't see them now - they're under all that snow. :)
Steve
Those look very very tall Steve. I wish I was there basking in the sun..... :)
Hi Steve:
Nice photo & perspective. Love the blue skies!
April,
I'm sure the warm sun would feel good to you right now. Stay warm in the snow. :)
Steve
Steve.
Nice photos, I like them. Good wordless entry.
Toula,
Thanks. I like the contrast as well. I really like this picture. :)
