GCBA SMC fetes children

This morning was the annual Gold Coast Builders' Association (GCBA) Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) Children's Breakfast. We hosted some 200 children who otherwise might not get a single Christmas present.

Many people were responsible for the success of this year's event.

In addition to the hot meal the kids were served, there was face painting, coloring books, a visit from Ronald McDonald and McGruff the Crime Dog, and of course a stop by Santa Claus. The morning was completed with a boisterous singalong guitar and puppet show.

I'm not sure who had more fun - the kids or the volunteers.

Good job Steve!  Looks like they had lots of fun.  These children loved this I'm sure.

Steve, for the volunteers, I am sure it was a wonderful experience making a difference in a child's life, and for the little ones I am sure they will never forget the kindness of those who thought about them. It looks like they had a great time.:)

Steve,

I belong to Kiwanis and we held a similar event last night, though we do not come close to helping the number of children at your event.  Thanks for sharing this wonderful moment and remembering the true meaning of the season.

Karl,

Good work with your Kiwanis. I'm sure it had a similar effect on everyone. :)
