Three weeks ago I wrote a post about my very pleasant shopping experiences at Staples that I called "Kudos to Staples" and I concluded my post with the observation "I sure hope this continues because it’s been a pleasure to shop at Staples."
Well, yesterday, the pleasant experience continued. I had bought a digital voice recorder a few days ago from them and then noticed the exact same model priced lower somewhere else. I had no idea if they price matched or not - turns out they do. I called the store manager to ask, and I was blown away by the way he answered the phone.
Get this. He answered my call with, "How can I make your day?" This was not a sarcastic, Dirty Harry-type "make my day" but a genuine expression of wanting to help me. Wow.
Guess who's getting my office supply business?

I have one of those Easy Buttons sitting on my desk. The only problem I have with Staples is that their closest store is about 5 miles from my office while 2 other office supply stores are less than half a mile from me. I'm laid back and don't want to drive that far.
Staples and Office Max are my favorites. Othere have told me about Office Depot, but after mistakes in shipping, I stopped using them.
I agree, Staples delivers and they just opened an office which is evry convenient.

I am a big fan of Staples too. I'm in a somewhat rural area and it's about a 1 hour drive to the nearest well-stocked office supply store. Lo and behold, their website has everything I need, product prices are comparable to the discount warehouses, shipping is free and I receive product within a couple days.
My favorite part is saving the gas money on the 2 hour round trip I would have made otherwise - yay!!
They built one across the street! I bought an expensive calculator ($100) that is required at my daughters school and it was on SALE at Staple's only!!!

I'm with you, but there's that old thing called choice. Office Depot could choose to be sooooo much better than they are, and they apparently have made a conscious decision not to. Clearly Staples has. :)
