Since we have a choice, why not choose success?

To be in business today, not unlike other times, we have two choices for lead generation and ultimate sales success.

We can sit back waiting for the phone to ring, or for the door to open, or for the email to arrive in our inbox - or we can go after new business.

Given the 2 choices, I'm going for the second one. The first is easier, but since when is growing a business necessarily easy?

Active Rain and other social networking sites give us an opportunity to reach out and connect with people - many of them unknown at present. Using the "6 degrees of separation" principle, we have so many ways of meeting and reaching out to potential new customers.

Then there are so many opportunities just in our daily comings and goings to meet people and generate new leads if we just are receptive to them.

Join me in choosing to be proactive and assertive in attracting new leads and customers.

I don't know why more people don't understand that success is more internal than external.  If you believe in what you are doing and feel it deeply then others around you will get it and "sucess" will follow.

Pat,

Thank you. Well-said, It is that internal drive and enthusiasm that propels us along our way and into success.

Steve - I'm with you... Being proactive is so much better than sitting around.  Thanks for the encouragement!  :)

Debi,

Go for it. Thanks for your support as well. That is one of the key differnces between the people making sales and those who are complaining about the lack of quality traffic - you have to make your own breaks. :)

That is one of the reasons I am here.  I look at it as a totally pro-active approach, it keeps me busy and my mind focused on Real Estate

Steve - I am with you on this one. It is funny, I was just talking with a fellow agent and she just closed a deal and she said to me, "O.K., now what do I do?" It was kind of funny because I guess I have felt that way before, but, like you said, we have two choices sit back and wait or make it happen! I gave her a few ideas. One of them was to joining AR, but I had already invited her twice and she still has not joined! Oh well, what can you do???

Thanks for the words of wisdom and have a great day!

Good attitude. Thanks for sharing and staying connected. It's important. :)

Terrie,

Thanks for staying connected with AR and for your participation. In the final analysis you can only be responsible for your own actions. If others don't want to follow what you know works, you can't force them to do it. :)

Staying connected is very important!  Just the other day, I realized that I had been so busy being addicted to blogging, that I was totally ignoring my old clientele, who aren't likely to read my blog.  I need to get back to some of my old basics of printing up some newsletters with my blog content, to send to them snail mail!

Sometimes we get so busy being technical, we neglect our folks, who aren't!

Myrl,

We need to appeal to potential and existing customers on several levels. Thanks for the reminder.

Sounds good. Always better to be pro-active instead of re-active, especially in the Real Estate market.

Posted by Stacy Jones (West Little Rock Title Company) almost 4 years ago

Stacy,

Precisely. Way too many people don't anticipate and aren't prepared to generate their own leads or handle lulls in business.

Well, if it was easy, everybody would be doing it right? Oh well, we should always expect the unexpected, but be ready for it. Does that make sense?

Posted by Stacy Jones (West Little Rock Title Company) almost 4 years ago

Stacy,

That's exactly what preparation is all about - like being ready for an objection in case you get it but being happy that it didn't come to that. :)

Steve - This market, in particular, has certainly shown us that we can't just sit around and wait for business to come to us.  If it's worth having, it's worth working for.

Steve - I agree -- we're all learning, growing all the time. We'd be bored doing anything else! Thanks, Take Care!

Success is always a good choice, when you think about the cost of failure

Lynn,

Very well expressed. That is exactly right, and it's time for our new posture to carry over into the new business model.

It is sometimes difficult to get up and do it.  But you're right, lead generation is the key.  Thanks for the reminder and motivation!

Steve, being pro-active is the best choice. Sitting and waiting won't produce income by any means.
