Ready for some good news?

Need to hear some good news? Well, here's a little for mid-day on Tuesday. First, the Fed made no changes today - interest rates remained as they have been. Second, the Dow is way up - almost 300 points as of right now. Third, oil is down over $2.00 a barrel right now - making it below $120 again (it was there yesterday before closing at $121). Fourth, I'm seeing new home sales with some of my builders. Yeah!

Yes, Great news on interest rates. Like to see oil come down some more, if we, the consumers are unaccepting and use less, maybe we'll see a signifigant drop

Laura,

You're welcome. I figured we could all use some good news, and the more I search, the more I find.

Lori,

The $120 mark was considered a "line in the sand" and if we can stay below it we're definitely moving in the right direction. Demand is waaaaaay off I hear - maybe permanently.

Miriam,

Find joy in the little things. Positive economic news is a reason to rejoice.

Charles,

You mean he might see his shadow or something like that? Well anything is certainly possible in this up-and-down game.

Steve Its always good to look on the good side of things. With that said I really cant believe we are feeling good about oil at $120. Just think where we were 3 years ago, I don't want to know what it will be in 3 years. But any drop is a good thing.

Ron,

How right you are!!!  But as long as we keep reminding ourselves (with Steve's help, of course!) that there is good news out there, we can help be a positive voice in our offices, communities, etc.  I'm all for it!  Thanks!

Marie,

Yes, but just look where we were 3 weeks ago at close to $150. It's called perspective. :)

Steve... we need to hear that good news from time-to-time.

Ron,

That's why I made this post. Oh sure, the business channels (Fox News, etc.) mention the good news, but they don't focus on it.

Amy,

I like your style. Thanks for jumping right in there and addressing Ron's comments. Good news is there if we look for it, or we choose to filter out the other news.

Steve - Thanks for doing your part to spread the good news.  Let's hope that we continue to see positive movement in the markets.  Those daily swings have left me with some whiplash.

You are absolutely correct Steve!  There is good news out there and yes...with the media...you do have to search!  :)

Debi,

Isn't that marvelous! There is good news. Sometimes it's all mixed in with everything else but it's there. :)

Lynn,

Keep your anti-whiplash collar handy - we could still see some volatility. But I like what I'm seeing in general.

The fed keeping the prime rate were it is currently is good news. Let's hope that thinking continues.

Good luck and success

Lou,

I heard that with the election coming that it likely would be December before a movement upward would be considered.

Steve, it is some good news, but unfortunately good news is bad news for interest rates!  we have seen them climb a bit this week.

Posted by Robert Rauf (REMN - Real Estate Mortgage Network (NJ)) almost 4 years ago

Robert,

Oh, that is unfortunate, but it could be used to suggest to people that they'd better make a decison because rates are starting to inch upward.
