Why not start your week "in the pink"?

Not sure where that expression "feeling in the pink" or "in the pink of health" comes from but it is used to denote a feeling of well-being and general happiness.

In our yard right now, and in many other places throughout Florida (they were plentiful in Orlando last week), the crepe myrtle is blooming.

It comes in many shades, but the pink is very pretty. So here's wishing you a week of happiness and success "in the pink" -

Steve, We have tons of crape myrtles here in San Antonio.  They are so pretty... my favorite is the pink one like you are showing here.

Shirley,

That's great. I don't pretend to know all the places where certain plants and flowers grow. I knew they were in Floida, and now I know they're in Texas, too. Thanks.

Steve,  I am kind of partial to the red Crepe Myrtle myself.  The pink is nice.  Thanks for the picture.

Anne,

If that's what it takes to put a smile on your face and a give you a great attitude to face your market.

Jimmy,

I like the red also - the deep, wine colored red. I don't even know how many shades and colors they come in, but they are pretty flowers.

Steve, if you are ever in a bad mood, just put some pink shoes on, trust me it works.

You won't believe how many people feel the urge to talk to you and you can make great contacts, just by walking around.

Anne,

Thanks, but maybe I'll just stick to wearing a pink shirt. However, I'm glad the shoes work for you. :)

I have a huge fuchsia one in my front yard in full bloom in the Texas summer simmer!  It is BEAUTIFUL!

Steve - Very nice picture!  I've always liked the color pink.  You definitely have some beautiful flowers in your yard.  :)

Steve,

Fuchsia is a nice brightly colored flower. That's 2 comments from Texas so the crepe myrtle must be a pretty popular bush/tree.

Debi,

Thanks. I've got some other pictures I'll post as we go along to show some of the color and unusual looking flowers that we have. :)

They are indeed, Steve. Here in Nashville and throughout the state oof Tennessee, Crepe Myrtles are also in full bloom. They are beautiful.

Thanks

Bo,

Tennessee is a prety state. You are the second one from Tennessee to comment on the crepe myrtles, and I can imagine how pretty they are.

Jim,

Glad it helps to get you in a good frame of mind, but I suspect it didn't take that much. You already have a great attitude. Missed you at SEBC.

Steve, Beautiful photo.  I haven't seen anything like it before. Thanks for sharing.  Now I will have to see if a crepe myrtle will survive Oregon's fickle weather!

Leslie,

Thanks. I have no idea where it is grown except in Florida and from the comments, Texas and Tennessee. Good luck.

Steve - Beautiful picture.  We have a number of Crepe Myrtles here in California too.  Also in every color imaginable.  Pink is my favorite, and there is also a purple color I like.  I love Anne's pink shoes.  I wish I had the courage to wear something like that!

Myrl,

You and me both on the shoes :) I also like the deep purple (we have a small one in bloom). The white is pretty just because it is so abundant on the tree. Thanks.

Steve - I'd almost pay admission to see you showing property in those pink shoes!

Steve,   Pink is where it's at!  My business cards are pink, pink is everywhere in my office, I wear pink shoes, purses, belts, hats you name it, I have fun with pink.  If it's not fun- don't do it!

Myrl,

Hmmm, a money making opportunity. Let me think about that one and get back to you on it . :)

Mary Jo,

Fun is a good thing. Silliness is, too. We should have fun with our business. I think I'll skip the purses but a pink hat has possibilities. :)

Steve- LOVE to see a man embrace the pink! I'll often wear a pink polo and have a few other shirts (and a million ties) with pink in them. REAL men wear pink!

Jim,

Finding the right shade of pink is a little tricky, but I really like a nice bold pink shirt (not hot pink).
