Yesterday, sales numbers were released on resale activity in Palm Beach County. Essentially they were the same from last year to this year.
In June of 2007, there were 764 transactions. This June, 744. A draw. Sales are still being made and pretty much at the same level. The average sales price was down, but the sales are there. No surprise to me.

Too true, Steve. People are still buying and selling, but all the bad news is driving down confidence and prices are following. Good post.
Ray,
Appreciate your enthuiastic response. Keep selling and making a difference in your market. Thanks.
Steve
Very true. I just checked our sales numbers for Anne Arundel County in Maryland and it's not as optimistic. We are off about 200 sales from last year. We are on par with numbers from June of 1998 though, higher than June of 97 which is the first year of our MLS system. But, the good news is there are sales being done. I am going to ratify one today.
June,
I'm sorry you're reporting that sales are off; however, I love what you say "But, the good news is there are sales being done." I also like that you are doing your part. Congratulations.
Steve
I'm glad to hear that your sales are doing well. Sure, it's off a little bit, but not much. It's nice to hear some good news... :)
Debi,
The stats you shared about your market were good also as I recall. In fact I think your average sales price was up which is great. :)
Steve
The stats here in Sacramento, are also demonstrating dramatically increased sales compared to June a year ago. However, our prices are significantly lower.
Myrl,
Hey, that's great that your sales are up for the same period a year ago. While lower prices may sound disappointing, I think we all know that price adjustments were needed to renergize and stablize the market.
Steve
Haven't you seen the commericials? Oklahoma City has one of the strongest housing markets in the nation. Yes, sales have dropped a bit, but there's still plenty for all of us to make a good living, if we simply commit to our clients and our profession!
Cori
Cori,
That's great that your sales are doing well. I hope you're participating in it.
