I just received an email from American Solutions that reports that they have over 350,000 signatures on their "Drill Now" petition - including mine and many of yours.
That's over one-third of a million Americans, folks. That's over one-third of a million Americans compared to less than 535 Senators and Congressmen who are standing in the way and preventing the will of the people from ending this energy dependence conundrum we've gotten ourselves into. If you just count the Senate, less than 100 people are keeping this country dependent on foreign oil.
Keep the pressure on!

Maybe the difference is that many legislators have access to the research showing which options might work and which won't !
Bill, with due respect, it's not their call. Competition, free enterprise, capitalism - that's what we need - not regulation, posturing, and foot dragging.
Regardless of opinion on the part of the poloticians, they were hired (elected) to listen to the people and the wishes thereof. My name is on the petition and I am happy that so many others are wiiiling to stand up and say so. Good post. Now, is there a way to move it from 350,000 to 35,000,000? You know it is possible and would not take much time if we just contacted those on our email roster and asked them to get on board. I have over 700 on mine and they were given the opportunity to make that choice as well.
Whether they do or don't is their choice. The fact remains that they were asked to make a choice.
Wayne, you're right. Take a stand, make a choice. Do what's necessary. We talk about doing what it takes but then expect that others will do it for us. Steve
