"Do You Know How To Help People Age In Place?"

Aging in place and universal design are being talked about daily in real estate, architectural, homebuilding, remodeling, interior design, new home sales, durable medical equipment, and occupational therapy circles - and with their clientele.

Do you know to recommend improvements to someone's home to help them live in it longer, more comfortably, and more enjoyably? Do you know what it takes to create convenience - regardless of their current physical needs or abilities?

Would you like to learn some great ideas that you can begin applying immediately?

If you are not yet "CAPS" certified ("Certified Aging in Place Specialist") through the National Association of Home Builders and the AARP, you can do something about it - classes are scheduled in West Palm Beach, Florida and throughout the Midwest and Northeast. Check Steve's posted schedule for dates and locations.

If you already have the CAPS designation, or you'd like more information on universal design, Steve Hoffacker teaches a 2-day course on "Universal Design/Build" in West Palm Beach and has several books that you can use.

Hi Steve~ Rich and I are Certified Senior Housing Professionals, a deisgnation offered through the Senior Real Estate Institute. Our niche market is seniors. We want to be more that a Real Estate agent, we want to be a resource to older adults, so the CAPS designation would fit right in. Is there an eCourse?

Donna,

This will definitely help you. I'll call you next week. It's only a classroom course right now - for good reason. :)

Steve, I've been wanting to take a class to get certified. I work with a lot of retirees moving here to Tennessee.
