This is always an exciting time of year - the college football bowl season. It's kind of like an Indian Summer for football. We've had the regular season that has morphed into college basketball. Now, football is back for three weeks.
With the exception of the contrived BSC games, there are some good matchups across the country in some 35 bowl games.
Seems that the winners of the games - if the matchups were chosen correctly - could be the basis for a playoff similar to the March Madness basketball finals. It's clear the BSC does not produce a champion - only a winner of the title game.
At any rate, there are some great games being played.

Steve....I watched part of the Idaho Bowl tonight....but didn't make it to the second quarter!
Steve,
The BCS means nothing. College Football needs a true "Playoff Series" like the NFL. Maybe someday.
Meanwhile, let's enjoy the Bowl Games that we have!
I'm having a hard time keeping track of the bowl games. Thirty five game means 70 teams - at some point there won't be enough teams with winning records to fill all the bowls. As it is, some marginal teams are going bowling.

This is always an exciting time of year. College bowls are fun to watch...
Hi Steve - Great time of the year for sports. Enjoy.
Like the regular season for college football. Love the bowl games. Not sure how we could have a playoff series, but it would be better then the BCS. Enjoy your day!
Larry,
Saw a couple of games. Good battles. :)
Steve
Fred,
As long as the networks, the major ADs and coaches have their say, there will always be a BCS - or something even worse. :)
Steve
Mel and Gretchen,
You don't need a winning record to be bowl eligible - just 6-6 or sometimes 6-7. :)
Steve
Paul,
They really are because the players moving on are out to prove something and we usually see good performanaces. :)
Steve
Conrad,
Great time of year. Thanks. :)
Steve
Wayne,
It's easy. 3 of the 35 games would be play-in matches. Then the remaining 32 would be like the second round of March Madness. :)
Steve
Have a great day and enjoy the holidays! Life is good.
Best wishes to you and your family for a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Steve, I agree, it is a fun time of the year! I blame ESPN for the BCS mess! I agree there should be a way to use the existing bowl games as a playoff. I have a problem when a team is eligible for the National Championship when they didn't win their Conference Championship. I know that the fans at Alabama won't agree nor will they like that. My opinion is changed if there were a playoff system and a non Conference Champion were to win a series of playoff games enroute to the National Championship game much like the March Madness of College Basketball.
Roy,
Thank you. :)
Steve
Tony and Darcy,
Why should we have to watch a rematch just because the computers create it? Agreed. :)
Steve
I'll be watching the Houston-Penn State game(which should be interesting ). I think Boise State once again proved how flawed the BCS is !
Michael,
The only ones who like the BCS are the big schools, the 5 major bowls, and the networks. The fans don't, but since when has that mattered? :)
