Howdy and evening Steve
Steve, I sure bet them there steps could tell some mighty fine stories about the folks that walk and stop on them, if only they could talk.
Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire
Where are the steps? Why did people go there? What happened to them inside? Were they allowed to leave? How did they feel when they left?
Steve, I wonder how many people have climbed up and down those stairs and never imagined that you would see a fantastic photo in them.
People sitting on them ..... thinking.... crying... laughing.... if only these steps could tell the tale.
Steve, I am thinking these are steps to a church or perhaps to your home?
I have often wondered who has walked certain stairs knowing the history of some of the buildings in Portland, knowing presidents, stars and even Portland's historic residences have stayed there.
I like the brick pattern in the background, looks like gaps for ventilation under the building. My guess is that this building has had a renovation, the siding and rails are new. Was it a historical building?
Hi Steve - Was it more important to be going up or going down the steps?
Agree with Tom, looks like a renovation. And, minimal wear on the bricks indicate they have not been there long. Got to wonder how many have passed by? Enjoy your day!
Steve such an eloquent post, does have one wondering. How old are they, how many former movie stars or presidents might have walked them.
Steve,
All I could think about is playing stoop ball as a kid.
Rich
Dale,
I'm thinking the same thing. :)
Steve
Marge,
These steps are on a public building. People have and do come with a variety of emotions. :)
Steve
Steve, That is a thought provoking post! The tales those stairs could tell! Great post, and have a great day!
Gary,
Well there has to be at least one of us to be reflective. :)
Steve
Rebecca,
Wish they were to my home except that I have no steps. Could be a church. but it's an historic public building. :)
Steve
John,
You've got it. Thanks. :)
Steve
Todd,
It is fun to ponder once in awhile. :)
Steve
Tom,
Yes, parts of it are original still. :)
Steve
Conrad,
Hard to say. It differs by the person. :)
Steve
Wayne,
Got the idea the bricks were older, but you might be right. :)
Steve
Charles,
Thanks. Just a fun post to take a step back - so to speak. :)
Steve
Rich,
There's that, too. :)
