Gas isn't really on sale as in the old gas wars. It just seems that way. Gas is cheaper today than I've seen it here in 2 years. I bought gas today at Costco for $3.49! I know this is still expensive for many markets, but this is the first time in 2 years that I have seen gas below $3.50 in Palm Beach County. It might have been there someplace, but I didn't see it and no one reported it to me. From what I saw, it got down to $3.51 a few weeks ago before running back up again. Breaking the $3.50 mark is serious progress!
I have personally seen gas for $3.39 in Orlando and Myrtle Beach in July and August, but $3.49 in West Palm Beach is cause for celebration.
Gas is still way more than it should be or neds to be be, but we'll take this incremental decline as good news.

Wow I wish it were that cheap here. I just paid $4.19 at Costco yesterday and that is the cheapest gas in Kona by almost 30 cents!
Good news that gas prices are going down. I paid $3.19 at a 7-11 in Dallas yesterday.
Lava Laure,
Ouch, that's a lot to pay. At least you saved 30 cents a gallon. :)
Steve
Richard,
That's fantastic. Won't be long until it's back under 3. :)
Steve
Here I believe it will get below 3 before spring, I think people are driving less and OPEC can see the writing on the wall. As our economy worsen and it is going to get a lot worse people are going on go when they have too.
Charles,
As we have seen recently, gas and oil prices are not directly correlated, but good to see both in decline. :)

Howdy and evening Steve
Steve, I'm glad y'all there in West Palm Beach are able to celebrate! Gas prices in my area have not came down. I'm paying $3.90 a gallon. Sure do miss the old Gas War days.
Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire
Steve,
I think 2.50 would be cause for celebration....
Ann Hayden in Wildwood, MO
Dale,
I miss those days, too. Don't suppose we'll ever see them again. :)
Steve
Ann,
Or the end of '08 when we went below $2.00. :)
Steve
There used to be a correlation between the cost of a barrel of oil and the price at the pump. The past few years it seems that the price at the pump only moves in one direction, up, while the price of a barrel of oil floats. The consumer no longer participates in the savings, the oil companies just report bigger profits!
Wayne,
Funny how we all notice this and yet they still try to sell the former idea to us. :)
