Firefox Is Down For The Count

I have quit using Firefox several time since they started monkeying with it back in 3.0 days a couple of years ago. They've had many, many versions since then. Most were not improvements, and some have been counterproductive,

As a result, I have stopped using it multiple times and written a few blog posts about the difficulties. Some people aren't affected with I'm experienceing, but many are - judging by the comments.

It is constantly going "non responsive" and it won't load a new page or refresh without moving the mouse around until the page loads. Stop moving the mouse and the upload stops also - indefinitely.

Because of issues with other browsers - especially with Active Rain - I've always gone back to firefox. Maybe the issue is with Active Rain.

Unless something dramatic happens with a new release, I'm done with firefox. Today it is officially removed from my computer - again.

The only advantage firefox offers over other browsers - and this admittedly is a biggie - is that it remembers the names of previous photo titles and links. I'm just going to have to live without this. Right now, Chrome seems to be doing the best, even with the titling shortcomings. At least it is responsive and posts fairly instantly.

By the way, the way composed on Chrome. I didn't have time to wait for firefox.

Interesting.  I haven't had any problems with Firefox.  It's good to hear Chrome is working for you though.  If I ever need to switch, that may be the one.

I had issues with Explorer, it stopped loading some programs.  Then firefox made an upgrade and did the same thing.  Since I switched to Google Chrome, I haven't had any issues whatsoever, except working on the office website which is only compatible with Explorer... who knew!

Dan,

It's amazing that it works for some and not others. Maybe it's a Windows 7 thing. :)

Linda,

Every "upgrade" to firefox seems to be a regression. Glads I'm not alone here. :)

Hmmm....I may have to try out Google Chrome.  I've only been using Firefox about a month.  It's better than Explorer.  Yet, maybe I should "upgrade" before I get used to the things that I'm not using now, like the titles.

I've been a big Firefox fan...it does what other browsers can't with some tools I use...sorry you had troubles with it...are you using a Mac?  (I am a HUGE mac fan)  I just downloaded Chrome yesterday, and have yet to really test drive it.

Sondra,

Chrome is good as is Safari, but firefox has commandeered my machine (see latest post). :)

Carole and Laura,

Thanks. I like Safari, but I can't get firefox to stop intercepting my hot links. :)

Virginia,

Firefox has exhausted its welcome with me, PC user. :)
