House Continues To Do It's Part

Today, the House passed a bill to rein in the out-of-control, and unnecessary NLRB. Of course, the Senate will not take any action, but it's what the House needed to do for the country, and it sends a signal to the NLRB that we're on to them and their actions are not appreciated.

The bill should have passed by a much larger margin than it did, but 186 Representatives see no reason to challenge the NLRB for trying to meddle in private enterprise.

The legislative action stems from a ruling by the NLRB that Boeing cannot open a plant in South Carolina because it must give to jobs to union members in Washington state. South Carolina, like Florida, is a right to work state.

We may have to wait until a year from January to rid ourselves of outrageous actions by the NLRB, EPA, and other bureaucratic agencies, but this is a good shot over the bow.

The original intent was to stop companies from moving union jobs to a non-union state to bust the union. In this case the union was losing no jobs, they were just not getting the new ones. The unfortunate part is that it is highly unlikely to make it to the floor in the Senate unless enough democratic senators are behind the issue -normal Washington DC politics!

In 2012 America will take back the Senate...   There will be a super-majority in both houses.

The Unions will become a footnote in the History Books.

Aww, and here I thought you were talking about an actual house. Like the kind we sell!

Gerard,

No one expects a vote in the Senate. Still the House had to act, and I'm glad they did. :)

Karen,

Without the Houise looking out for free enterprise, what we do may be comprised. :)

We cannot create jobs that are economically competitive if we insist that every worker be paid like an executive on Wall Street. Wake up you clowns in Washington!

I'm waiting for 2012 elections when the GOP/TEA Party will have MORE representation in both houses AND the White House.  This is a PRIME example of what the federal government NEEDS to curtail in order for American jobs to return....

More and more scarcasm from some members in the Rain, but actually what Congress and the President does really effects the way America does business - OR NOT!

Government seems to be overstepping  the bounds that for generations made the US a great nation.

Over regulation is a killer. The EPA keeps trying to increase their control and every time the public (farmers in this case) question how much authority the EPA will have the EPA comes back with..."Oh, it won't be that bad. They are exaggerating to stop us." And then the laws are passed and the new laws are even worse than feared.

Wayne,

As long as politicians take their marching orders from big labor, we will see no changes. :)

Nick,

What goes on in Washington definitely affects us and our ability to be in business - whether we acknowledge it or not. :)

Gary,

There is no "seems" to it. They have done it, and they have done it intentionally. :)

Than,

We don't need the EPA. All of us would be much better off without it. :)

It is all part of the plan, and don't think it isn't.

The idea is to make things structurally so non-union jobs will only exist in the lower-ranking, lower-paying jobs.

Then, they will insist that those jobs go union, with secret ballots all around.

When you look back through history you have to wonder, what the hell were they thinking when GOVERNMENT made it manditory to join something (unions in this case)!  Not only made you join, but PAY for that "privilege".

Unions have fleeced the American Citizens for too many years.  They take that money like thieves and the top union guys get rich from it, they "buy" politicians...in what apply can be described as MONEY LAUNDERING. What do the workers get?  Less take home pay and just plain used.  ...of course, it is "all for their own good"!!!!    Riiiiight.

Why should it ever have been made legal to stop a company from finding people who will work non-union??  Even if that meant busting the union?  Doesn't anyone realize that these laws coincide with ALL THE JOBS GOING OVERSEAS??

If we want our manufacturing jobs back, FIRE THE POLITICIANS that are PUSHING the jobs out of this country!
