This is the way the moon appeared last night in West Palm Beach. It's not really a black and white photo although it appears to be. If you look closely you can make out the outline of darkened part, but that's not the story. I think of this as a 50-50 moon, much like the proverbial glass half-full. We can note that the moon is only partially lit or focus on the darkened half - or we can appreciate the light that is there and know that each night it's getting brighter and brighter until we once again see that beautiful full moon.

Steve:
What a beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing it. Have a great week.
Steve
I really like that shot and the knowledge that there is order in life.
Hey Steve killer pic! I also like the tie in to attitude!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend
Great shot, so what did you use to get the shot? Camera, Lens, Settings? I've been trying to get a good shot of the moon and really haven't been able to do it yet.

Alan and Michele,
Thanks and have a great first week of September! :)
Steve
Tim,
Thank you. :)
Steve
US Mortgage,
Thank for liking the pic and the message. :)
Steve
Todd,
Did this with my Nikon S8100 with full digital zoom. :)
Steve
Steve,
I love that you are able to share a message with your pictures. It is nice to see that you have a passion for photography and a true talent in capturing moments in time.
Charles,
Thank you for your very kind words. Have a great September! :)
Steve
You seem to be like the Everready battery. You never stop. If not teaching, brokering, consulting or writing, you are taking photos, watching sports or keeping up on current events. When do you sleep? Grat shot. Enjoy your day!
Wayne,
Thank you. Love what I do. :)

Lou,
Thanks. Have a great September! :)
Steve
Wow Steve - this is an incredible photo! The details are amazing and I'mwondering the same things as Todd - what kind of camera did you use? BTW - love you blog and just subscribed!
Kristine,
Thank you. As I told Todd, this is my pocket Nikon S8100 that takes some amazing pix. Sometimes I use the D70, but not this time.:)
Steve
What F-Stop did you have it on? Did you use any white balance compensation at all?

Todd,
That's the nice thing about this camera. You can't control the settings except the presets. I find when I use the "dusk/dawn" setting I get the best color and digital zoom. :)
Steve
WOW, great camera that can take that picture on auto. I'm really impressed!

Todd,
In many ways, I like this camera over my D70. :)
