Not only did the college football season kickoff Friday night, but the featured TV game between TCU and Baylor also featured the first upset of the year.
In a very hard fought contest that had spectacular plays and sloppy ones on both sides, the lead changed hands 8 times until Baylor finally prevailed 50-48 - needing an interception in the closing seconds tto preserve the victory.
At one point, Baylor was ahead 47-23.
The game showed momentum shifts for each team, comebacks by both teams, perseverence on both sides, and a will to win from both teams. The outcome of the game clearly was in doubt until that final interception.
For the first game of the season, this one set a pretty high standard of play for the remainder of the season.

Boy do I love, love, love Football. I'm thrilled that fall and football is here! But for me.....Go N.D.!
Steve ~ Sounds like an exciting game!
Larry,
There is such a big difference between the live games and the re-runs - even if you don't remember the outcome. :)
Steve
Diane,
It really was. Thanks. :)

I watched that game and WOW, was all I could say! It certainly came down to the last couple seconds. I love the fact that Baylor got their first win over a ranked team since October 2004.

Todd,
I think they showed some real ability - especially in the first half and on their last drive. :)
Steve
Anytime you have a high scoring thriller where one team has a big lead evaporate, it's a great game. Enjoy your day!
Wayne,
Comebacks are exciting unless you're pulling for the team with the lead. :)

Oh man am I excited football is back!
