I posted earlier in the week about my experience with browsers and my decision to dump Firefox 6. In fact, Firefox has been deleted from my computer. Maybe it will return later, but there were constant issues - slow response, freezing up, and timing out, among others.
So I set out in search of another browser. All came up short, but one is clearly ahead of the others. The winner is Safari. It's a little quirky with AR, but the response is the fastest of any of the browsers, and all functionality is there.
Internet Explorer (IE9) wouldn't let me post. It's fine for general browsing and is friendly enough, but I wrote a few posts and hit "submit." As soon as I did, I received an error message that I needed to add a title and content. What I wrote had been erased. That wouldn't do.
Google Chrome was good for awhile, but it won't show YouTube videos in the post until after you've posted and refresh. It's there, but doesn't show before the refresh. AR knows about this issue and hasn't been able to correct it. There is also an issue with footers.
Opera is not bad, but it doesn't allow copy and paste of links and has a few issues with general ease of use.
That leaves Safari. It doesn't remember previous post names like Firefox, but otherwise is the best browser for AR - for now. And it has a huge bookmark library.

I tried Firefox as well. But, it kept crashing my computer and wasn't playing nice with me....learning curve issues likely.
But I am still with IE for now...I might try Safari though. Thanks.
Don,
Thanks for confirming the Firefox issues. Good luck. :)

Good luck with Safari may the browser gods be with you.
Good luck and success.

Steve - I've been with Firefox for several years, generally without problems. I switched from IE and found Firefox much better. Haven't tried anything else although I've been tempted to see what's out there. Thanks for the info.
Steve...
U use Chrome and I haven't noticed any issues with videos, but there is always something you have to sacrifice with each browser variety.
Lou,
Thank you. Good results so far. :)
Steve
John,
If it ain't broke ... Some of us have issues with Firefox. Some of you don't. :)
Steve
Richard,
There is a lot of give and take - seems like a good all around browser could be devised, :)
Steve
Steve, thanks for your update on browsers. I hope you have all your problem solved and have a joyful weekend.
Somewhere out there is the right browser that will do everything, but as of today, it doesn't sound like it is out there. (Maybe you should start your own browser)

No real issues with Chrome or IE up to this point, but do not do as much on the computer as you do. In the eventof a problem, I am now ahead of the curve. Thanks!
Kwee,
There has to be one that does everything. Wish I could find it. :)
Steve
Todd,
If I only knew where to start. :)
Steve
Wayne,
Don't change then. Continued good luck with them. :)

Thanks for sharing your experience. Do you think ActiveRain will ever have an editing feature?
Roy,
If you mean a full content manager, probably not. :)

Howdy and evening Steve
Steve, I have not had a bit of a problem with using Firefox.
Have a good one

Dale,
The results are certainly mixed for Firefox. Thanks. :)
