Did you know that illegal immigration was a crime - that it was against the law to enter this country illegally? DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz doesn't.
She castigates Republicans in the House for wanting to penalize illegal immigrants as if they have commited some type of crime by coming to this country illegally and remaining here.
She even has the notion that they are the "backbone" of our economy. They don't pay taxes and they send money back to their homeland. Doesn't meet my definition of backbone.

Ditto * we were ALL immigrants 300 years ago; however, not NOW and certainly now when entering the country outside of regular immigration guidelines ARE a CRIME!

When my grandparents came to this country they had to go through all the steps to become U.S. citizens. They were proud to be Americans and fought for the right. We are all immigrants for the most part. It's not a gift or a right and will Not be appreciated unless it is earned.

Face it folks, THIS IS NOT OUR GREAT GREAT GRANDPARENTS DAY! When so many immigrated, they came and took care of themselves and their families. They CAME FOR the opportunity to WORK HARD. They didn't come to get free food, free healthcare, free schooling, free housing. They weren't LEECHES ON SOCIETY.
Big difference from what is happening today. They are sucking the American Taxpayers dry.

"States ought not to be in the business of subsidizing illegal aliens," said Terrill, making arguments similar to those used by Maryland opponents. "Every one dollar you make available to an illegal immigrant is one dollar you are not giving to one of your citizens. To grant illegal immigrants in-state tuition rates directly discriminates against non-resident U.S. citizens from surrounding states. That is a direct violation of the equal protection clause."
