It's not often that a weekend has two separate and special annual events in it. This weekend is such a time.
Today is the first Saturday in May so that means it's Kentucky Derby Day. Even people who don't normally follow horseracing like to watch the Derby. As far as Americana, who doesn't instantly recognize a photo of Churchill Downs when they see it?
Then tomorrow we have Mother's Day. To all the women with children, have a great Mother's Day!
This month is special because the first Saturday is followed immediatley by the second Sunday. This only happens when the month begins on a Sunday.

Steve ~ Since I have 4 Open Houses this weekend, I'll have some trivia to share with all those hundreds of visitors I'm expecting! Have a great weekend!
This is the one day of the year I follow horse racing. Tomorrow is not the only day of the year I acknowledge the role "Mom's" play! Enjoy the day!
Tish,
Thanks. Good luck with the Open Houses, and Happy Mother's Day! :)
Steve
Wayne,
You're right, Mother's Day is everyday. Enjoy the Derby. :)
