It's Time To Let Go

The end of the year is the perfect time to purge those files, closets, drawers, attics, basements, and storage areas. We usually think of spring cleaning as the time to get a fresh start, but what better time to get a fresh start for the new year than by letting go of useless information, papers, supplies, and materials?

As we have some time around the holidays - and even if we don't we should make the time - we should delete unnecessary files from our hard drives, toss out sales leads that aren't going anywhere, throw out obsolete files and software, throw out old office supplies that are unwanted or no good (unless they still have some usaeble life as a donation to a school or nonprofit agency), and get ready for a fresh start in 2011.

There is an old adage that we should get rid of what we don't want or need (not counting family) to make room for what we do - the principle of the vaccuum.

It's time to let go of any mental baggage, ideas, concepts, or thoughts that have held us back. Time for a paradigm shift.

Have a prosperous, healthy, happy, and successful 2011 - and start it off as lean as possible. It's time to let go of anything that is not going to be useful or helpful in the new year.

So very well said Steve.  I always feel the urge to "spring" clean at this time of year.  As you said, its a great way to start the new year fresh and its amazing how liberating it can be when we purge the excess things we no longer need or use.  Have a great new year!

I've already filled 2 sacks to shred.  It's amazing how much stuff (junk) you can accumulate in just a year.  Best wishes for a healthy and prosperous new year.

I'm with ya!  There's no better time than today to wrap up 2010....in our heads, on our desks, and in our closets.  I will be bagging clothes to donate to local charities and reorganizing my files today.  Can't wait to wipe the slate clean in preparation for the arrival or 2011!

Steve - You're right about being prepared for the paradigm shift; success 2011 will require developing some new tools and a new way of seeing things.  And for those who can adapt, it will bring great opportunity.

I am not a New Years Resolution person. But it is great time of the year in real estate for projects, I think I need to take your advice.
