Not only are we being bullied by the TSA, not only are their methods invasive and demeaning, we are being misled (lied to). This is being done under the guise of increasing security and safety for the flying public. All it is doing is creating massive delays and irritating a great deal of us - some of to the point that we will drive extra distances rather than submit to your egregious policies.
Al-Qaida in Yemen boasts that they did the toner cartridge bomb scenario for a measly $4,200 and that they are committed to many more such attempts. One, they are much smarter and several steps ahead of the TSA - even on a good day for TSA. Two, all of these flights originate outside of the US.
Give it up TSA, we are on to you. You're outmatched. Let us fly without your harassment.
Oh, did we talk about the tremendous costs savings here? All of the friskers can be layed off. Then, the feds should return all of the porno scanners to the manufacturer. Sorry, we didn't need them after all.

I quite agree, Steve. As Benjamin Franklin once said,
"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Thanks for voicing the majority opinion.
Steve I was thinking the same thing Al-Queda is not flying in America just us regular folks.
I agree * let's ARM the passengers and PROFILE * PROFILE * PROFILE even if it means that everyone with a VA driver's license is frisked * 15 of 9/11 hijackers had VA dls
Why is it that I doubt the claims that the radiation in the porno scanners is safe and insignificant? Why is it that the TSA has mandated that all terrorist explosive material be carried by those twelve years old and under? There is sure a lot of government stuff I don't understand.
I totally agree
I used to fly all the time to Las Vegas,LA or San Diego but not any longer. I have no time savings at all with those new measures.
I saw this picture this morning about this subject:
David,
Thank you. We are only enabling the progressive agenda and not addressing the real issue. :)
Steve
Ron,
Right you are. :)
Steve
Wallace,
And they lived and took their flight training here. :)
Steve
Mike,
Try this one. The President is only relying on the recommendation of John Pistole and proclaims that this policy is "necessary" based only on John's say-so. :)
Steve
I spent a great deal of my morning watching this play out on Fox -- what a disgrace!!!
How soon 'til the effects from missed flights, and more folks traveling the highways (not in the air), will trigger an airline-industry bail-out? -- NO, I don't want this bailout. . . but I can see (actually I feel a sick sorta rumbling in my gut) this as a distict possibility.
Andrzej,
This is as close as I hope we ever get to a police state. :)
Steve
Tish,
It is disgusting, unconstitutional, and 100% unAmerican - yet we have it - primarily because John Pistole says we need it and he's getting away with it. :)
Steve
Will,
I'd say this was part of the plan, but I don't think they're that smart. :)
Steve
Steve
I feel that TSA is reactive and not proactive, there needs to be a house cleaning from top to bottom.
Good luck and success.
Lou Ludwig
Lou,
Better yet, shut it down and save all that money. :)
Steve
Steve - The TSA can just give the "porno scanners" to the SEC, they're the ones with a taste for porno.
John,
Well, if there's another use for them. :)
Steve
Steve - It's disgraceful. I hate airline travel and I'm definitely not going through this "porno scanner". I'll take the road anytime.
Hey, Steve, did you see the news program tonight on the overseas security? They have scanners which don't get too invasive and they cost less than the full body scanners that the US invested in. As to the full body "pat downs," while I'm not overly modest, I think it's a bit invasive. Should be interesting on Wednesday - I'm sure there's going to be a lot of disruptions at the airports.
Rosalinda,
Basically one person - John Pistole - is ruining the potential to enjoy a flight, and without good reason. He needs to be fired for misleading the President and the American public. Janet Napolitano also. :)
Steve
Juli,
Better plan on being at the airport at least 24 hours before your flight. They say it takes 4-5 minutes for the pat-down - they must really be enjoying it for it to take that long. :)
Steve
Congratulations this post is now featured in the Silent Majority Group of Active Rain.
Nick,
Thank you. :)
