Once again, Jan Brewer is showing what a modern day leader looks like, and she backs up her words with actions. She has appealed yesterday's ruling by Susan Bolton which enjoined enforcement of many provisions of Arizona's new SB 1070.
She said in part, "If the federal government wants to be in charge of illegal immigration and they want no help from states, it then needs to do its job. Arizona would not be faced with this problem if the federal government honored its responsibilities." Hear, hear.
She is correct. Obama and Holder want no part of enforcing these laws - dangerous and impeachable offenses if you ask me. They wanted the offices they now hold, and enforceing all the laws is a part of their duties.
Arizona did what they felt they had to do because the feds refused. Many other States now want to follow Arizona's lead and enact similar legislation.
Remember we are a collection of States, and not a nation subdivided into States.
This is a time for leadership, and Jan Brewer and the Arizona legislature are leading the way. The feds, including Obama, Holder, and Bolton, are getting in the way.

Steve I love the fire in that woman and I also like the Governor of New Jersey. Two leaders our youngsters need to learn from.
John,
Very well said. :)
Steve
We really need a policy not another legal battle, wake up Congress!
Are you ready for another Friday Steve?
Paul
Steve....should more conservative leaders follow that example--how far would that take this country. We here in Michigan have a big vote this August 3rd & again 2nd November; depending upon the selection made per Party on next Tuesday--if our present attorney General is the GOP choice, then his stance on & siding along with AZ will be my choice. We have sanctuary areas as well as other areas of the globe non-citizens & illegals who are sheltered with family or 'village' folks. Normally this was not a problem to me--but NOW--not so fond of the situation.
Barb
Brewer won't back down. I wish other so-called leaders would follow her example.
Paul,
Actually we have a policy - no illegals. What we need is an AG who will aggressively enforce it. :)
Steve
Barb and Sal,
I'm willing to find out how far we can go. :)
Steve
Jon,
It is so refreshing to see. :)
Steve
There are a couple of governors out there certainly making the white house look lame. Brewer is one, Jindal is another. And then there are Christie, McDonnell........
Featured in Tea Party and reblogged!
Gov. Brewer is making a lot of sense. I think Az should just enforce the law, their way.
Those who would complain about the AZ law should go for a hike in the desert anywhere south of Phoenix, and also just north of the border where the farmer was killed and the rest live in fear.
Jan Brewer and Sheriff both have the cahones to enforce the law, and I'm all for them.
Mike, I think you sugar coated it. Pee Wee Herman makes Obama and his thugs look lame!
Congratulations this post is now featured in the Silent Majority Group of Active Rain.
Mike,
It is great to see such strong governors. What a contrast to the national scene. :)
Steve
Kevin,
Thank you. :)
Steve
Bill,
Me too. Thanks. :)
Steve
Jon,
As long as people remember at the polls. :)
Steve
Nick,
Thanks. :)
Steve
It's nice to say you back her. I do and sent money to the Gov for her fight. Gov. Brewer is showing how a true leader behaves. If you are interested, here's the website: http://securetheborder.org/
