Michael Steele continues to be a very poor leader and representative of the Republican Party. As RNC Chair, he is a disgrace. Removal is not an option. It is a necessity.
Yesterday, he uttered another one of his bonehead remarks.
Can you believe he said, that the fight in Afghanistan is "a war of Obama's choosing" and "not something the United States had actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in."
How wrong can one person be? And a public figure at that.
Of course, this is our war. Of course we want it prosecuted. Only, we want to win, and the sooner the better. Forget about the timetables for drawdown, just go all out and win.
Michael, go do something else. You are a major disappointment and a joke.

Is he the one who was afraid of sending troops to Guam for fear it might sink?
Unfortunately, politicians say whatever they think the person or group they are speaking to wants to hear.
Robert, that was Congressman Hank Johnson, Democrat, from Georgia who made the Guam remark.
Robert,
No, but he has said way too many stupid things on his own. :)
Steve
Shirley,
This is a classic case of trying to reinvent the message instead of being consistent. :)
Steve
This person is a joke, as it the whole present congress, regardless of party. Waiting for a house cleaning in November.
He isn't good when cornered. Really need someone who can think of responses quickly and keep their foot out of their mouth. I think they should put a women in that post. You can never win an argument against a women.
Michael,
We have to remain diligent. It won't happen on its own. :)
Steve
John,
That's why you have to be consistent and stay on point with the core principles - something he doesn't know how to do. I would support a woman in the post - but not for what you suggest. :)
Steve
Steve
Mikael Steel is a bad joke.
Good luck and success.
Lou Ludwig
Lou,
He definitely is in the wrong job. :)
Steve
Steele is a perfect example of what happens when moderates run the Republican party. Also see, Bob Dole and John McCain.
Steele has ben a disapointment
Larry,
Right. When you don't have conservative values, you cannot express them or defend them. :)
Steve
Hugh,
Almost from the beginning. :)
Steve
I LOVED Ed Gillespie who is still in the GOP background in VA * Steele needs to go ASAP. I'm giving $$$ directly to candidates and NOT the GOP
Wallace,
Ed was good, and Haley was, too. Mel was a joke. This guy is the worst. :)
Steve
I quit donating to RNC many years ago and donate only directly to candidates. I think the entire RNC has lost its way and needs to be "retired." I'm very disappointed in Steele and would rather he just keep his mouth shut...let the Dems self-destruct - we won't need to take attention away from their failures right now.
Susan,
I agree with you and feel the same way. :)
Steve
He was just as silly as Lt. Gov of Maryland. He is an ornamental piece, no more. Put there to make it look like the Rep Party is a big tent. If he realized what his party is about, he would realize it is the biggest tent.
Jay,
He certainly is out of his element. :)
Steve
Let's be a little more objective here. Back up and take a deep breath. Steele is somewhat correct in his remarks. Let us all recall that when President Bush used force in Iraq, the Democrats yelled, kicked, bitched, moaned, screamed and hollered that we should have gone to Afghanistan instead and captured Ben Laden. They beat Bush over the head day in and day out about wasting our time in Iraq instead of Afghanistan. In fact that is all we heard from Obama and the Democratic Party for the rest of his administration and still here it now and then. Is Steele 100 percent right? No. Is he 100 percent wrong? No.
Joe,
I appreciate your insight and comments, but I find fault with Steele's remarks because they are divisive. It is not Obama's war, it is our war. We are embattled in the "War on Terror." This is one theater of that war. We do need to get on with winning it, however. :)
Steve
Republicans should look at Joe Watkins to replace Steele as RNC Chair in 2011. Respectability is lost on Steele, but not on this Watkins guy. He showed it in Pa while running an unsuccessful campaign for Lt. Gov. But he gained immense respect from the grassroots and party leadership:
