They're At It Again

Congress doesn't learn very quickly. They apparently haven't noticed that the American public is fed-up with their spending spree.

Next week, they get to try to spend even more money that we don't have on yet another program we don't need. Even more to the point, we don't need them.

There is still unspent over $500 billion of the $787 billion stimulus bill (roughly two-thirds) that just had to get passed or we would suddenly fall into a financial collapse. Well that may happen anyway - but as a result of the stimulus bill rather than the possible lack of it.

Next week the Democrats will consider Stimulus II, but they know that Stimulus I was such a resounding success (like the nearly $400,000 of it that was spent for a group of Georgia teachers to take a vacation in California)this week) that they have labeled this one a "Jobs Bill." Taking their lead from the President, they erroneously believe that spending money will create jobs. As I have said many times, they government can add people to the payroll, but they can't create jobs - not revenue producing jobs.

Worse than that, they think that we think that their methods will produce jobs and that we will reward their largese with another term in November.

We just need to keep the Congress arguing among themselves for a couple more months, and then will will get out of this term with no more damage.

Steve...What good is the stimulus if youdon't give it out?  All a bunch of baloney!

I say let's give it to the people not the cities & communities. Give out 500k or a Cool Million to everyone in the country and let them purchase what ever they want!

Steve

Buy paper and ink stock, because all the government is doing is printing the money we don't have.

Good luck and success.

I didn't like it when the Bush Admin. bailed out AIG, or any of the big banks.  I would normally be upset about the continued spending, but the economy is tanking.  If they don't act, maybe there'll be a complete meltdown.

Bob,

They have, but they're not done. They're asking for a bigger shovel. :)

The Stimulus was for the unions. :)

Bob,

Many us suggested that at various stages along the way. It is a great way to move the economy. :)

Steve, the kool aid drinkers still think all the billions we threw at the economy had some stimulating effect.  That's why the unemployment numbers are more like 17% considering those whose benefits have been exhausted.  20 thousand more jobs were lost this past month.  We certainly are seeing results.

Comforting to know one of the top cars purchased during the Cash for Clunkers fiasco, is now being recalled by the millions.  Production has stopped on Toyotas until they figure out why the gas pedal accelerates on its own.  Seems Lexus will be the next casualty of this manufacturing malfunction. The largest auto recall in history.

At least when those Clunkers were traded in that got most of the Obama stickers off the road.

Creating a crisis is all that the democrats and this presidents seems to have success at?

Posted by Nicholas Goglucci, The Listing Whisperer (South Florida Real Estate & Development, Inc.) over 2 years ago

Don't fool yourself into complacency about them not doing anything.  Behind the scenes, Obama is staffing the government with thousands of followers who are reshaping the mandates of the executive departments. . . . CO2 is a dangerous pollutant and therefore can be regulated by the EPA.

The recent changes to the FHA insurance program should be a lesson of the dangers of having those Zealots in control of anything.  They would walks us all over the cliff in their zeal to change the very structure of our society.

Don't listen to what they say.  Watch what they do.

That first stimulus was to reward Obama's supporters. We don't need another round of that.

Alix,

That's exactly what they want you to think. If Bank of America, Citi, Chrysler, GM, AIG, or any of the others had been allowed to fail - which is their right - our economy would actually be stronger because the market would have picked the slack on the goods and services that were needed. :)

Precisely. How many times have they promised no tax increase for the middle class or that they are a friend of small business? We know better. :)

Maybe we would be better off if they just spent the left over money on more booze and food for Nancy's airplane.

I don't understand the whole "we must have this stimulus money", and then they don't spend it. They are a bunch of idiots wayyy out of touch with reality. I hope in November to bring them back down to earth. Very frustrating to see this dummies pretend that they are looking out for us.

I believe that we all have different opinions on the way our government is run, and we are entitled to our opinions. And I know that it takes more than one man/ woman and a long time to change the United States to a positive note. But as time goes by and the United States as a country becomes older more problems and debt continue to rise and become worse and never better.

So when are the (people) of the United States going to group together as a whole, stop fighting with each other and make this change possible? And I am not talking about voting (screw voting) we need to group up in the millions and go to the White House and demand change NOW!

Bob,

I like that idea. Pulling it off is the tricky part. Washington is banning public demonstrations on the Lincoln Memorial and the Mall. Maybe they're anticipating this. So we'll just take a million people or so and meet at say Lafayette Park before going across the street to the White House. :)

Hey Steve,

I attended one of your seminars in Vegas a couple of weeks ago. Keep up the good work! Its not a republican or democrat thing, both parties are full with greedy career politicians. Vote them all out, that will send a message
