It seems that two years ago Harry Reid said some very uncomplimentary things about then Candidate Obama. They could be construed as racist remarks. There is little doubt that a Republican saying as much would be publicly chastized or worse.
Remember Trent Lott that had to give up his seat? Remember Joe Wilson who called Obama a liar (which no one really disputed - only Joe's method)?
Harry says he apologized to Obama, the apology was accepted, end of story. Hmm, Joe Wilson apololgized to Obama, the apology was accepted, and he was formally censured by the House after a half-day of proceedings. Double standard?
This latest incident is just another in the long list of missteps by Harry Reid that demonstrates that he has dishonore his office, the Senate, and the people of America. Too bad we can't impeach Senators. I'll address that in another post.

Cross your fingers. He may soon be gone.
Lenn,
That would be great news. Thanks. :)
Steve
Do you think he will lose his next election? What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!
Your friend in the great NW,
Paul
Paul,
I would love for him to stay in Vegas - at least in Nevada. :)
Steve
The double standard no longer surprises me. Hopefully they will all soon be gone.
I don't approve of rudeness on either side of the isle. But the consequences are definitelynot equal for the same "crime". I don't think Reid will stay in office, but I'm not hopeful that his replacement will be any better. I am just jaded with the entire political system in this country since politics has become a career and not a service.
I couldn't say it any better that those who came before me, but I will add this. I heard an interview with Rev. Al Sharpton this morning, also making his excuses for Reid and giving him a pass. He said there was no comparison to the Trent Lott episode. Uh....scuse me?
Raylene,
I agree. Some (Chris Dodd, for instance) who thought they would not be affected are gone or going. :)
Steve
Tammy,
I agree with everything you said except that I think we are close to reaching a critical mass that won't tolerate "business as usual" anymore. :)
Steve
Dedra,
Of course not, Trent was a Republican. When you see the "D" after Al's name and his cronies in the House and Senate, know that it stands for "Dinosaur." :)
Steve
This is blatent proof that his agenda and many other super Libs is purely political.
I'll hold the door open for him and if he decides to hesitate I won't hesitate to boot his @$$ down the steps.
Trey,
There is no doubt. :)
Steve
Bob,
Love it. :)
Steve
Congratulations this post is now featured in the Silent Majority Group of Active Rain.
Reblogged and featured in Tea Party!
I'm with Lenn, he may very well be gone soon. Have you seen him trailing significantly in the polls?
Nicholas,
Thank you. I am honored. :)
Steve
I think only a fool doesn't realize that there is a huge double standard out there. Another example is Jesse Jackson - he talked about chopping Obama's b*lls off and yet the Dems still love him. Amazing. Hopefully Harry Reid will be gone after November.
Kevin,
Thank you. I really appreciate it. :)
Steve
Darrell,
November is not soon enough, but if means he goes away, I can wait. :)
Steve
Rob,
I hope that many of the Dinosaurs (Dems) and Relics (Repubs) will be gone in November. :)
Steve
Hopefully he'll get booted out of office in the next election.
A remark made by Bill Clinton to Ted Kennedy, which could have been dismissed, Hillary the Kennedy endorsement. Excuses are being made that Reids remark was misunderstood, and actually was meant' to be an observation. One could say the same for Clinton's remark. It all depends who says it and how necessary they are to catapulting the agenda.
Jon,
Many of us a hoping for that. :)
Steve
Bonnie,
Political careers have been ruined for less. Reid must really have some secrets on these guys. :)
Steve
Even SEIU is turning their back(s) on this guy....he really need to go back to Nevada and I think the Dems are waking up
Personally, I'm tired of hearing about what all of them said. I mean it's like being back in high school again. I remember a girl wanting to fight me because she heard I said something about her friend which was taken out of context and twisted into something ugly.
None of this is really any different. Everyone has their opinion. Problem is these guys don't know when to keep their mouths shut and they are not representing the American people properly.
I dont like Harry at ALL but do I think he should lose his job over it? No. I think he should lose his job because he's a monster who doesn't have what's best for the American citizen at heart, but over something he said? No. No one should no matter what letter is after their name.
By the way, I'm all for impeaching him, just not based on stupid remarks but based on his actions.
Wallace,
I think it's the Washington air that sooner or later gets to these people in power. :)
Steve
Cheri,
Thank you. I agree with your analysis. This is not a one-time thing with Harry - it's continuouus. :)
Steve
Cheri,
As for impeachment, it can't be done. The 17th Amendment did away with that. This is why it needs repealed. :)
Steve
Interesting I wonder if after the Healthcare vote Dirty Harry will step down and not run for office in NV.
Example Dodd!
Alice,
He may pull a Chris Dodd. :)
Steve
Even worse then Reids comments are the fact that democrats are defending him. The democrat party is now the party of racists!
Until the liberal media make a big deal about this, he will not lose his position although in my opinion after the bar was set with Trent Lott then fair is fair.
Larry,
It makes no sense, Even the NAACP is OK with it. :)
Steve
Mike,
The liberal media would never do this. :)
