Today, the President finally said that we at war with Al-Qaeda - only took a year. But does this include the Taliban? Don't know.
Then he said that we must do everything we can to win.
Does "everything" include sitting on a report for more troops for 3 months of indecision and no action and then only giving McChrystal three-fourths of what he had requested as the minium to get the job done? Does "everything" mean telling the enemy that we'll pull out in 18 months so they make their own plans for a surge after that? Does "everything" mean even thinking about a withdrawal until the entire mission is completed?
Does he intend to do everything to win the war the same way he won't raise taxes on the middle class, the same way he would have put the health care debate on C-Span, the same way he would have vetoed any spending bill that had earmarks in it, or the same way he'll have transparency in his administration? That's what I thought.

Yes he is in a very difficult position right now, I pray that our county comes out of this time with everything intact.
It serves a purpose for right now and will change when the next poll comes out. How much worse can this crap get.
You know what Steve? I soooo like you! AND I soooo disagree with your political views.....AND I do think you're a fabulous photographer! :-)
Give him a chance he just discoved we are in a war. Maybe he will move forward.
Steve, It would be a real novelty to see some "real leadership" come out of that white house. Organizing just isn't cutting it for the country.
At least he's willing to accept the blame. It's been a year and I'm tired of hearing this administration blame the last one. The Detroit incident should be treated as if the bomb went off and killed a plane load of people. It was only for a malfunction that it didn't. Serious changes need to be made in communicating these threats. Taxes, health care and transparency...well, don't get your hopes up. It took him a year to acknowledge we are at war.
Steve, please allow me to correct you. It took him a little more than 8 years to figure out we're at war. It is encouraging that he's catching on, then again, we'll see what he says and does from here forward.
Maybe next he will admit that Al-Qeada is a terrorist organizationa and then by default admit we are at war with terrorist.
Oh what a tangled web we weave!
Thank goodness, it is Friday,
Paul
Steve - I love your posts - and I would love your help with potography!
obama is a war monger and is working to payoff his pals in the "military industrial complex" that got him elected!
WINK
James,
Since we are lacking decisive leadership, that remains to be seen. :)
Steve
Joyce,
It can get worse. :)
Steve
Liz,
Thanks. It's OK to disagree, That's what freedom gives us. :)
Steve
Elite,
That would be great, but I don't see it happening. :)
Steve
Bob,
Well said. :)
Steve
Michele,
Only because TOTUS said so as he was reading it. :)
Steve
Jon,
I yield to your analysis; however, I think "catching on" might be overstating it. :)
Steve
Jay-Paul,
He stopped short of saying that he wanted victory. He just wants to win - not exactly the same. :)
Steve
Paul,
And how. :)
Steve
Nicholas,
Thanks for your support. Let me know how I can help. Email or call. :)
Steve
Larry,
Wink. :)
Steve
obama says what he thinks we WANT TO HEAR. Period. The man (and I use that word lightly) has NO IDEA what values, character and morals are.
Georgia,
Thanks. That mindset is pervasive in politics. :)
Steve
Good Rant Steve. As a former Airborne Ranger in the US Army, I wonder how many citizens understand how destructive it is for our "leaders" to announce our "pull out" plans to an enemy who is holding on by a thread. How can we get them to throw in the towel if we pre-announce that we will be doing so!
Joe,
Great to have your comments. It's voices like yours that we need to hear. :)
