Harry Reid, and to a lesser extent Nancy Pelosi, is bullying and threatening his colleagues (often with the blessing and at the behest of the White House) into throwing away their good judment and principles for the promise of future riches. Sometimes these bought Senators have good intentions. That doesn't make it right. The end is not justified by the means.
Bill Nelson has been promised that Medicare Advantage, when it is canceled because Medicare is taking a half-trillion dollar hit to fund Reid's Folly, will still apply to Dade. Broward, and Palm Beach Counties even though the program will no longer exist. Ben Nelson has been promised that you and I will pay Nebraska's Medicaid bills forever, while the other 49 states pay for their own. Mary Landreau has been promised $300,000,000 - and the list goes on.
So here's my question. What happens after the votes are in and the die is cast - and the promises are forgotten or not funded? Oops. Big time oops!
Do you really trust Svengali Reid to deliver on these promises? What if he can't? What if he changes his mind?
Folks, start looking for conservative candidates to take the place of the Reid and Pelosi sympathizers in both houses of Congress who have lost their way and will sell their votes and ignore the will of the people.

Steve, If this type of bribery was done in other places the culprits would be put in jail. Not so with our Senate/Congress! When it is done there they get a big pat on the back and are told job well done. WHEN DOES IT STOP!!! Hopefully it won't be long, 2010!!!

The key thought here is that no Congress can mandate the actions of a future Congress. Sen. Nelson's extortion over this Congress can easily be overturned in the future. He sold himself out for a short term victory.

Reminds me of prostitutes. In this case it's legalized. Anyone who votes for this bill should get the guillotine next time they are up for election.
I try avoid commenting on politics or religion. So I will continue in keeping with my traditional stance. However, I can say that I cannot wait for the first Tuesday in November 2010. That's when my comments will be most useful.

The revolt will happen long after Reid and Pelosi are out of office - when the Chinese call us on our debt!

There is a pretty goood chance of getting Senator Reid out of office. His state is tiring of him according to polls. Nov. 2010 cannot get here soon enough.

Washington is no longer listening to the people they represent and put them in office, they are doing what they want. We need to clean house in 2010 and 2012. Till then stay strong and let them hear your voice. They feel that they can bully us and that we will forget about what they are doing before the next election. DON"T FORGET.
