This is really getting out of hand. The talk about climate change and global warming has gone on for too long and now is starting to have serious financial implications. It's time to end the hoax and all the expense that it has caused - and that it is poised to cause.
The EPA recently usurped constitutional authority and did an endrun around the Congress. It is enacting part of the non-approved cap and trade legislation as if it already had been passed. We'll have to see what restrictions they will attempt to put on our lives and at what cost.
Then there's the Conference next week in Denmark with all its limos, private jets, and opulent display of hypocritical non-environmentally friendly behavior by the heads of State and other dignataries. But that's really OK because there is no global warning. It just something Al Gore and his friends made up to distract us and drain a huge amount of money from the economies of world nations.
In fact, the European Union (EU), under extortion-type pressure from poorer countries of the word, has pledged $3 billion to help them deal with climate change. This means that hundreds of millions of dollars are going to be taken from the economies of England, France and other nations that already have fiscal issues. Foreign aid is fine is used for real need - not something contrived.
Now, these nations want all of the richer nations - including the United States - to fund them with an unseemly amount of money - billions and billions per year (including what the EU has already pledged).
Ask any school kid about global warming. They know that it is a fact and that it dangerous, They know more about it than they do the founding of this country. Their teachers have managed to scare most of them into actually believing this nonsense.
To set the record straight, it is not a fact and never has been. Sun spots and other phenomenon impact vagaries in the temperature and climate.
Did you know that we are now in a cooling cycle where annual temperatures are declining?
We did not become a wealthy county by falling for foolish schemes although we might become a poorer one if we continue such actions.

Steve, I think it is all about redistribution from rich countries to poor countries.
Steve, I am with you on this one. The things that we have witnessed over the past few months and continue to witness our government do is insane.
Steve - exellent post. Unfortunately it will fall on a lot of deaf ears but that doesn't mean you shouldn't keep saying it.
Congratulations this post is now featured in the Silent Majority Group of Active Rain.
Marchel,
Unfortunately it is. This is the time for eveyone to hold out their hands until we achieve global parity. :)
Steve
Tim and Pam,
And the real rub is that this is intentional for the large part. :)
Steve
Simon,
Thank you. I appreciate your support and encouragement. :)
Steve
Simon,
Thank you for the feature. That is greatly appreciated. :)
Steve
Great post Steve, I am waiting for the day when a govt. official knocks on my door and makes me buy a carbon credit! This is dangerous.
Steve - unfortunately, there are too many who feel that they deserve what others have earned, and too many in power here who are willing to buy their votes with the promise to give what is someone elses.
Larry, dangerous for who!
Larry,
We have gone way too far down this ridiculous path. :)
Steve
Mike,
That is a philosophy foreign to capitalism but gaining in acceptance. :)
Steve
Ross,
Dangerous to all of us who love the freedoms and liberties that are the cornerstone of this country. Dangerous also that a lie can gain such a foothold to be rooted in policy. :)
Steve
Steve,
It would be dangerous to knock on my door for the one knocking.
Great Blog, this psedo science ponzi scheme known as "Global Warming" is the Greatest Fleece of mankind the world has ever known!
Ross,
If they really tried to enforce this stuff. :)
Steve
Doc,
Thank you for your well-written comment. This scheme makes Madoff seem like a grade-schooler. :)
Steve
Steve, The nonsense is just getting crazy. Now, they are actually going after the air that we breathe, exhale.
Bob,
Yes, the invasiveness has gotten totally out of control and is poised to get worse unless we put a stop to it. :)
Steve
The dummies of the world just keep on falling for it. If we keep this up we wil be a 3rd world country.
We are being transformed to that which we came from....an off shore colony!
Steve - It's like evolution, if you don't agree with the theory, you are considered crazy or demonized as to ignore all the facts.
But the facts are both a flawed and have given themselves over to faith as well.
These people have started a new religion, and they are give to come against anyone who has another belief system that doesn't agree with theirs.
We need an American president again
The New World Order is definitely coming - it's not just a conspiracy theory anymore - this is one of the core issues. Stand up and be counted conservative America - vote in 2010!
It's like every liberal SCAM! They never even make an attempt to solve the problem. The solution is always, send more money to them to distribute to their cronies.
Kevin,
We are already on the road. :)
Steve
Gary,
What a chilling, observant way of phrasing that. :)
Steve
Nicholas,
You are right. Call it ideology, belief system, or religion. It has zero tolerance. :)
Steve
Hugh,
Until we get that, how about an American Congress? :)
Steve
John and Susan,
Heard today that 54% of Americans definitely do not want any health care reform - so we get it anyway. How nice. :)
Steve
Jon,
This is a scam of the highest order. Madoff pales in comparison. :)
Steve
Steve all this hysteria is ill placed. According to a report I heard yesterday reduction in emissions by China and India will be reduced ANYWAY. The plans on the drawing board in both countries for Nuclear power plants and other emission reducing innovations will reduce India by 40% and China by 20-22%.
The provisions they plan to enact were already part of their expansion programs. Both India and China are emerging economys who do not need financial assistance or encouragement. If we do nothing for them, they are already going to improve over the 10years on their own.
We are rushing head long into a fix. We have no idea how much of an impact these efforts will net the global community. Nuclear power alone would make a significant impact on the environment.
