I am amazed at the new phishing campaigns that come out. Every few days a new scheme is rolled out. Of course, the old standbys of the African widow or business just keep getting dusted off and reinvented.
Two of the latest ones are supposedly from the IRS wanting you to go to a non-existent account to verify information and one supposedly involving an electronic bill payment that wasn't allowed to happen.
Then, there are the ones that purport to be your bank - or even a bank where you don't have an account.
Don't bite. Be careful.

There are sharks of all types in the waters. Thanks for the reminder to swim carefully. I got one last week about someone who is trying to settle their multi-million dollar estate and they want personal info, religious preferences, etcetera. Watch out!
Brian,
In our helpful nature it's easy to get trapped - that's what they are counting on. That and greed. :)

The Phish are always biting where I live!!! BTW, your account has been frozen. Can you send me your account number, pin, social security number, mother maiden name, your first pet's name, and your city of birth? We need to "verify it" in order to unlock it!!!.....................Great post Steve. Best wished from upstate NY!!!
Too bad the same people that initiate these scams don't get as creative with something constructive!
Steve
