A few things in the news today are real head-scratchers. Here are three.
A person can be convicted of a crime for lying to the White House, yet the White House systematically lies to us, midleads, spins, and advances its own agenda. Why the double standard? And why the inanimate "White House" rather a specific person?
In the recent "Cash for Clunkers" program - which was disasyerous in so many ways - the most common vehicle traded-in was the Ford F-150, and the people trading those trucks in were just upgrading and purchasing a new F-150. That certainly helped the economy. Ford was doing OK anyway.
Rep. John Larsen (Democrat from Connecticut and the 4th ranking member in the House) was interviewed on TV about the Health Care bill. He mentioned several concepts that he considers important in the bill, yet every single one that he raised is directly contradicted by the language in the bill. Nevertheless, he promises passage of the bill this weekend. Maybe he should actually read the bill, but there's probably not time before the vote tomorrow night or Saturday.
Oh, add a 4th. The President actually was consulted for his approval to allow a special Saturday session of Congress to vote on his bill. You mean the House members might have to work on Saturday? By the way, what ever happened to separation of powers?
Americans, Active Rainers, entrepreneurs, patriots, it's time we all question inconsistencies and excesses like this and put a stop to it. We deserve better.

We seem to be covered by different rules, don't we?
Your friend in Washington State,
Paul
Wow...this post made me laugh today. It is a crazy time we are living in!
Paul,
Yes we are, and the advantage is always Washington - have you noticed that? :)
Steve
Lisa,
It's funny but not in a true comedic sense. Thanks. :)
Steve
Steve- certain people live and are governed by a different set of rules than you or I. Money, political power and charm go along way. Add to the mix hot air and arrogance; eliminate any moral compass and guess what you have?
The more we demand answers, the more we expose the administration for who they really are.
Steve.. This is just so sad. How can we have our trust in these officials, when they just blow smoke out there B--TS?
I want more answers... and truthful one at that.
Steve
It's very sad to see what's going on in Washington, where our Representatives no longer represent the people who have put their trust in them and put them in office.
What the people have given them the people will take away in the 2010 elections.
Good luck and success.
Lou Ludwig
Kathy,
Fantastic response. Thank you. :)
Steve
Jon,
I'm not sure there are answers - not defendable ones anyway. :)
Steve
Valerie,
This is known as making it up along the way. :)
Steve
Lou,
I'm certainly counting on 2010 being a major wakeup call. :)
