It was a great summer. Congress failed to act - again. May they keep it that way.
If we can keep Congress from passing Cap and Trade, health care, the budget, and a myriad of other grossly expensive, over regulatory, ineffective measures, we will be the better for it.
I know there are people that want health care reform. Unfortunately, nothing resembling anything practical has been proposed. It is better to pass nothing at all than to enact anything that has been discussed thus far.
As summer winds down, Congress has essentially been on vacation - even while present in Washington. They claim to be too busy to read legislation even though the public can do it and can outspeak them on the serious issues.
For many, this will be the summer they lost the public's trust.
Maybe we should just cancel Congress for the rest of the year. There can't be than many actual workdays scheduled anyway.

Steve, I think that sounds like an excellent idea!! If they can't read what they pass then maybe they need to go back to school.
Steve, great concept! Don't pass anything right now, we would all benefit from that!
Marchel,
They certainly don't need to be wasting our time pretending to be legislators. :)
Steve
Tony and Darcy,
We need to do whatever we can to keep it this way. Thanks for your help. :)
Steve
Steve, look out this Congress is sneaky!
What a great day to be alive!
Paul
Paul,
As long as they don't pass anything, they can talk about it all they want. :)
Steve
Until we elect representatives that actually serve the best interests of US, we can only hope for more inaction.
Steve, I've said in other posts, the government should be run by people with a little common sense. That would eliminate about 90% of our elected officials. I've seen so many great blogs and posts from just your average American on the street, showing more common sense with a better grasp on reality than most of what I hear coming from our "leaders".
Jon,
While I think we may have over 100 new people in the House and Senate, the old ones will spoil them soon enough. :)
Steve
Nick,
The difference is the average person has a stake in the day-to-day functioning of this country. :)
Steve
Steve, you took the words right out of my mouth.
Nick,
Keep up the fight. They won't so we have to. :)
