What more evidence do you need that the seasons are changing? The NFL preseason is underway.
Tonight, the two teams from last year's Super Bowl (which really wasn't last year because it was played in February of this year), the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals, played again. Same teams, same outcome, different location. This time the game was played in Pittsburgh instead of Tampa.
Obviously it didn't mean the same as the last time the game was played, and the reasons for playing it were different.
Last time, the TV commercials mattered almost as much as the game. Last time, the entire season of conditioning and qualifying to represent their respective Conferences was behind them. Last time, each player was focused for an all-out effort in the "game of a lifetime." Last time, the office pools and the Las Vegas action were a major part of the game. Last time there were viewing parties.
Tonight, the starters for both teams played a few downs. Then the players trying to win a position with the team got to show the coaches and the fans - and coaches from other teams - what they could do.
What a difference a few months can make. What a difference intensity can make.

Steve,
Whaaat, it's not that time again, or is it?
The other day actually say a football game (maybe pre-pre season?) on TV and I was thrilled. Yet what I noticed more about the change is that here in SoCal it's now getting darker earlier. A little less time to show buyers.
Lynda,
It is that time, and it's amazing how football generates the interest that it does. :)
Steve
Hey Steve! No matter how the game ended tonight, our Arizona Cardinals will going to the upcoming Super Bowl with free tickets. :)
Leolinda,
That's the spirit; however, as they say, it's a long season and anything can happen. :)
Steve
Steve,
The start of pre season means the real thing is just around the corner.
Richard,
That's right it does. Just a few more weeks to go. :)
Steve
It is on Steve. The Seahawks just sent my season tickets. The smell of garlic fries are in the air. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?
Paul,
Between UW and the Seahawks, you're going to be busy. :)
