Do I Look Like A Phish Market?

Just got the most amusing email. It said that they had been to my website and wanted to order some of my products (I have eBooks for sale at present). That part was OK although the phrasing was a little awkward, and I'm not sure what they really meant by "products."

Then they want me to send them my website to verify that it was the same one they had seen. How's that?

Then they wanted an entire list of what I sell and a price list - which is all on the website and they would have known had they ever really visited it.

The real clincher was the address "undisclosed recipients." I wasn't the only one being phised - though I'm not sure why I got included. Maybe because it's Friday.

It was signed with a legitimate-looking business name and phone number, but I'm not checking on it. We're done.

Steve, did they say they would send you $50,000 cashiers check and you could keep $1500 for handling charges and stuff then just send them back a money order for the difference?

oH HECK, I know you are too smart to fall for that.. but seriously my daughter did have someone email her something similar when she put one of her horses on an online classified ad.

Gail,

No, I get at least 3 or 4 offers a week from someone in Africa, but there was no money mentioned this time. :)

Mary,

Thank you. Maybe they thought I'd just be happy to get an inquiry - which I was - but that was it. :)

Kathy,

I don't know if we are being targeted, but we definitely are being slammed. :)

Steve,

Is such a shame that our energy and attention is taken by these things. I feel sorry for those people who don't have the sense to see through this stuff!

Cheryl,

Is that what it is? You mean they really do want to buy my whatever - as soon as I tell them what it is? :)
