Veteran's Day means a lot of different things to Americans. For some it is a day off. No mail delivery. Banks are closed. Some remember the service of family members. Some are honored and remembered for their own service.
We have many veterans among our ranks here on Active Rain. We salute you for your service and your sacrifice.
We enjoy so many freedoms and liberties here in America that are worth preserving and fighting for. One of those - our system of free enterprise - is especially important to me and I think most Rainers.
It's what allows us to be in business for ourselves or pursue a career of sales that sets no upward limits on our income and makes no demands on the amount of hours or passion that we can devote to our pursuit. It rewards effort and persistence. It penalizes the slacker and those who would get rich quick. It lets market forces set the rules, and we gladly operate within them.
Real estate and free enterprise go hand-in-hand. Owning property. Selling property. Trading, exchanging, investing. Building homes.
Without veterans whom we celebrate today, we might not have free enterprise which we participate in and celebrate everyday. I am glad we have this freedom.
