In Those Immortal Words of Bill Cosby

Remember Bill Cosby's comedy routine when he recalls warning one of his younsters "I created you, I can take you out?"

It's time we deliver this same message to the UN. We created them in 1945 in San Francisco. We gave them a prime piece of real estate in NYC. We let every dictator kook in the world come to our country to use the UN as a world stage to denounce us on our own soil. We let them contrive resolutions about global warming and greenhouse gasses. We let them create health scares like the swine flu pandemic.

Now we are standing by while they attempt to legislate worldwide gun control to supersede and nullify our Second Amendment rights.

The UN needs to disappear, which is not likely. However, the UN needs to find other digs. That NYC real estate can have a much higher and better use than this.

Don't submit to this world order thinking. The US is the one superpower in the world and must remain so.

UN Issues More Dire Reports

The UN is famous for issuing reports of dire predictions for not going along with their own brand of conventional wisdom in an attempt to modify our behavior. They have formed commissions and conferences on global warming, greenhouse gases, diseases, other health risks, and now food shortages. They have scared millions of people who actually heed such reports, have created a few true believers, and have wasted billions of dollars in the process. Remember than in addition to hosting them on a valuable piece of ground in New York we fund over a quarter of their budget.

So far, none of their predictions ever have any merit.

The pandemic swine flu ("H1S1" because it was more politically correct to assign an alphanumeric name than call it by what people were familiar with) was far less impactful than a normal flu season.

The so-called global warming is now giving way to global cooling.

They are scaring us to not use cell phones because of a cancer risk they have defined.

Now they are predicting long-term food shortages. As long as fuel prices remain high (impacting production and distribution of raw materials and finished food stuffs) and corn is planted for ethanol rather than food, I'd say they are right. But it didn't take a UN report to tell us this. We knew it.

Ther UN continues to be irrelevant, but the food issue is very real until the fuel and ethanol issues are addressed.

Praising Libya For Human Rights?

Chalk this one up to the "think you've heard it all" department.

Libya, scene of unrests that are propelling our rising gas prices and state sponsor of terrorism, is on the verge of being lauded by the UN. Ronald Reagan almost succeeded in quieting Qaddafi, but he still managed to bomb PanAm 103 and his own people.

Apparently forgetting about all that or just plain ignoring it, the UN Human Rights Council (Iran is one of the members) has decided to postpone consideration of its report praising Libya for its outstanding work in human rights.

Where have these people been and who makes this stuff up? Another reason to send the UN packing to another shore.
