The fruit that is often called "star fruit" because of the way it looks when it is slices is really called the carambola. Carambola is another one of those words that you may see from time-to-time as the "graphic" to post a comment on Active Rain.
This is a bright yellow, waxy-type fruit that is very fragrant - especially when it is blooming and ripening. It has a very tiny cluster of light purple flowers when it is blooming.
We have way more fruit than we could ever eat, so if you're in the neighborhood .... I don't think they'd ship very well.
