There's more acquisitions and changes going on in the technology arena. HP announced that it is set to buy Palm for $1 billion cash. No word yet on the Palm brand and whether it will be retained. Apparently Palm has been for sale for a while.
HP reportedly likes the Palm OS and may try to use it to develop a tablet PC product to compete with Apple's iPad.
So that leaves the iPhone and the Blackberry as the main smartphones and the iPad and a product to be named later as the tablet PCs.
Stay tuned for further developments.
