Joe (Biden) Is Always Good For A Laugh

This past Friday, the White House bragged about their "Top 100" projects that have been funded by the Stimulus Plan.

Joe Biden boasted "We're starting to turn the page on a decade of failed economic policies and rebuild our economy on a new foundation that creates good middle-class jobs for American families,"Why miss a chance to blame the Bush administration again?

Seems to me that home ownership, housing prices, and employment were at all time highs in 2004-2006. We certainly had not experienced sustained unemployment greater than 10% in the last two-thirds of a century. Short sales didn't exist much before the past few years. Nice try, Joe.

Biden continued that they "are drawing billions in private capital off the sidelines to help recharge our economy." Funny we hadn't noticed that one before.

Biden cited wind-turbine production in Indiana and construction of a new commerce route in Ohio - saying they had created about 3 million jobs nationwide. Funny we're still losing tens of thousands of jobs each month. I wonder if they meant to say "saved or created."

Then, he said that the projects were "addressing cutting-edge research, rebuilding the nation's highways and bridges, and growing small businesses while changing the U.S. economy to make the country stronger and more competitive." More infrastructure jobs. Small business? Only if it's working on a government contract. Competitive? Not even close.
