Spring! The vestiges of winter are gone. Wipe the sleep from our eyes. Get up from our hibernation. A big, brave new world awaits us.
Spring officially arrived on the calendar a few weeks ago. Daylight savings time (for those of us who observe it) officially arrived over a month ago. Easter is today. There is nothing else to wait for. "Spring" is here!
No matter how we look at it, and no matter what we have been waiting for, spring is here. Oh, there might be a little warmer weather on it's way, but that's no reason to delay all that spring has to offer.
The flowers are blooming - there's color after a mostly colorless winter. The grass is greening - signifying life. The trees are leafing out - giving us shade. a fullness to the landscape, and the anticipation of the spectacular color that will come at the end of the season.
Spring is like a waterfall. It pours forth with optimism, new plans, rebirth, fresh starts, new beginnings. It washes away the old and splashs into a fresh start. Such energy it brings - the froth at the bottom of the waterfall is like all of the ideas and outdoor pursuits we've had bottled up in us until this moment of the year.

So, regardless of what plans we had that didn't materialize fully last year, this is a time for new beginnings. Nearly three-fourths of year still lies ahead of us.
Spring is a time to clean out our homes - toss out and give away items worn out or no longer necessary. Store the items that won't be needed until next winter. Open the windows, spruce up, freshen up. Give our home a spring freshness.
Then move on to our yards - the setting for our homes. We'll begin tilling and raking and planting. Then the water, rain, and fertilizer will come to nourish the soil and our young plants.
Then on to our businesses. A spring fresh attitude comes by releasing all of those old habits and ideas from the past. Put on the mantle of optimism and adopt a "can-do" attitude. Decide what we need to do to be successful and strike out on that journey.
This is the time for new beginnings - for a fresh start.
