Sunday, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Jim Cornelison sang the National Anthem at Soldier Field in Chicago with power. pride, and gusto. The song was more important than him, although people have been talking about his performance ever since.
Last night, Fergie opened the Dolphin game in Miami with a sloppy rendition where she clipped some of the words and warbled like an American Idol contestant. Clearly she wanted the attention to be on her rather than the song and the moment.
But, I'll let you decide. Here are both renditions.
