Persistence

How many times is the average Active Rain blogger willing to try to post or comment before giving up, defeated by dreaded "proxy error"? For the past 6 weeks, we have been living with this as the new servers have been on order, in transit, arriving, being installed, and brought online. Some days are pretty good - yesterday, access was pretty fast and only a couple of proxy errors.

Today is a different story. Started out with the "things have gone pear-shaped" page and then went to the "proxy error." Being one that enjoys a good challenge. I decided to see how many times I would get the proxy error before actually loading the page I requested. Would you believe that on the 15th try it worked?

Maybe it's because it's Sunday. Maybe it's because it's me. Would sure love to the proxy error and bad gateway disappear from our page loads.

The Proxys Have Returned

After a relatively god day of making posts and comments yesterday, it looked like maybe the worst of the proxy errors were behind us. Not true.

I hadn't planned this post, buts after 9 consecutive proxy errors on a photo upload at 1:25 per error (by my iPhone stopwatch), I gave up on that for a while. Twenty five minutes to do one photo post - and then not even succeed. That's asking a lot.

Well, I wish we would get a definitive answer from AR as to when everything will be 100%. My guess is that they are struggling with this, too.
