The NFL now has compnay. This morning the NBA officially began an indefinte lockout. There will be no training camps or summer development league. There may not be a season this fall. The NBA doesn't seem concerned about this, so we shouldn't be either. Let the NBA go away.
The owners are crying that they are losing so much money - hundreds of millions of dollars a season. Who forced them to pay these ridiculous salaries?
Is the NBA relevant anymore?
Is the NFL?
It's reported that the NFL is no closer to a settlement than they were months ago. Training camps normally would have opened later this month.
Cancel the NBA and NFL. Refund the season ticketholders. Hold a community contest on what to do with the no-longer-needed stadiums. And what to do with all of those naming-rights that are going unused.
Now if the BCS would go away so we could really enjoy college football.
