Back in April, I reported in my post, "Say Goodbye To Some Familiar Magazines," that "Professional Builder" and "Professional Remodeler" magazines, among others, were being discountinued by their publisher. Now there is word that "Professional Remodeler" is starting up again next month.
This is a mixed blessing. For those whole really enjoyed the magazine, they'll be glad to have it back - unless the format and content has changed appreciably. For those who didn't cry over it's demise, they probably won't be back.
It's hard enough to bring a magazine to the street the first time. Bringing it back without any notice that it would likely come back is a real challenge. No emails or postcards of what they were thinking. No direct mail. Nothing until today.
I wish them luck, but wonder how many subscribers have really missed the magazine and are eagerly awaiting its return. Consumer tastes change - even in as little as a few months.
