Tonight, we took my wife out for a nice dinner for Mother's Day. The place was packed, and we were told that there would be up to a half-hour wait. After a mix-up in getting our table (they skipped over our name), we finally got seated about 45 minutes after arriving.
The manager was very accommodating, and helped to make the situation better.
Apparently they weren't expecting to be this busy tonight and were prepared for a big uptick in business tomorrow - both a Sunday and Mother's Day.
My question is this: what restaurant doesn't expect to do a good Saturday night business - especially on a special weekend? Why wouldn't they expect to be busy on this Saturday Night when they are on every other Saturday night - and just possibly it might be even busier because of the weekend? Oh, I get it, the people that would normally come tonight are going to wait until tomorrow to come. But what about those of us who didn't get that memo and showed up tonight?
Not exactly the best example of preparation.
