It's hard to keep up with all of the financial and political struggles in Illinois, but here's one they easily could have avoided.
It seems a University of Illinois Adjunct Professor, Ken Howell, who has been teaching at the school for the past 9 years - and teaching Catholic studies - has been fired because of an anonymous student complaint - because he said that he agrees with the church's position on homosexual sex being immoral.
Now, if he had been teaching math or French or PE, maybe his comments could be questioned. However, he was simply elaborating on the topic he was teaching.
Then the University acted upon an anonymous complaint of an unknown student presented through a friend. I wonder if this anonymous person even registered for the class?
If he had attacked the church and attempted to discredit it, I suppose the University would have been fine with that.
