This morning I scored the phishing daily double. Not only that - I got the same message twice.
This is a new twist. Someone presenting themselves as legitimate from California even with her street address (you know from the first line that this isn't so, but you along for the punchline) tells you why all of the other people contacting me from Nigeria are "fake" and that I should only work with this one person who managed to get her the money owed her - hard to tell how much since she mixed commas and periods in a number with many zeros in it.
Then I am supposed to pay some very important "compulsory" fees that I am supposed to know are required (in an attempt to sell her legitimacy).
So I am supposed to trust her and her connection to collect my riches and feel grateful that she has steered me away from the fakers (make that other fakers). The daily double - a win-win - not!
Actually a very entertaining piece - the creativity in these phishing expeditions.
