We can learn so many lessons from watching the athletes in the Olympics. This afternoon I was struck by the men's single skulls (rowing). I don't remember the length of the race, but within the final quarter of the race (from the announcers) the New Zealand athlete was almost a full boat length ahead of the Norwegian. The Norwegian had been leading earlier. In fact another boat was challenging the Norwegian for 2nd place. Well, withing the final few hundred meters everything changed. The Norwegian won the race and the New Zealand finished 3rd.
This points out the mental toughness, the physical conditioning, and the perseverance required to tackle a duanting task and prevail - even when trailing near the finish. There's certainly a sales lesson here.
