Buy Peanuts As A Hedge Against Inflation

Can't you see all of the TV commercials now hawking the value of peanuts? G. Gordon Liddy et al now tell us to buy peanuts before the price goes even higher. And peanuts have never been worth zero - though maybe close to it.

Get your peanuts in the shell, roasted, boiled, by the bar, or in butter, but get them now. Who knows how high they will be by New Years?

Working For Peanuts Now Worth A Lot More

The age-old expression of "working for peanuts" meant that very little money was involved. That's no longer true.

It seems the drought and hot summer have curtailed the peanut crop in Georgia, Texas, and Alabama. So much so that prices have nearly tripled.

Peanuts that a year ago were $450 a ton are now over $1,200. Good thing the fed says there's no inflation. Otherwise, this might be cause for concern.

The peanut butter and jelly sandwich may now move from the lunch box and after-school snack to the special occasion desert. Airlines now have another reason to forego serving peanuts.
