Palm Beach Marks First Century

Today, April 17th, marks the centennial of the Town of Palm Beach. Rep. Allen West and Gov. Rick Scott were on hand to commemorate the occasion.

Palm Beach is one of those special places known throughout the world. It doesn't need "Florida" added to it for you to know where it is - even if you have never visited it.

Of course during the Kennedy Presidency, Palm Beach was the Southern White House.

Much of the most expensive residences in the country are located in Palm Beach.

The Breakers Hotel has worldwide acclaim - as does Worth Avenue.

Henry Flagler was one of the founders of the Town. He was a contemporary of John D. Rockefeller.

For many years cars were not allowed on the island.

There are so many historic buildings and homes plus famous residents that it would take hundreds of pages to detail it all.

We'll leave it at Happy Birthday!
