Most Agree This Idea Is Wrong

The Obama Administration and Homeland Secuirty want to issue an online ID number to everyone who conducts ecommerce. Supposedly this would protect people from fraud. Do we really believe this is why they want it. Maybe to get a database and then to track our online transactions?

Fortunately, it doesn't seem to be catching on. A Rasmussen poll shows that 60% of American are opposed to the idea. I would think the number would be closer to 100%. It's a bipartisan disapproval. as 64% of Democrats are opposed also.

As for the fraud, if people can steal credit cards, hack into computers, and steal identity, what's to make this government ID so fool-proof? I think nothing.

Aside from the fact that our country is broke and can't finance a new program anyway, aside from the obvious Constitutional issues, and aside from current practices working just fine anyway, this idea has no merit to begin with.
